TO our OHIO FRIENDS .... Our family is headed to DC in May, to meet with members of Congress. One request is to waive the five-month waiting period for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits so that ALS patients can receive disability benefits and Medicare right after diagnosis.
We are hoping to get thousands of hard copy letters signed to take with us. kids4cure.herokuapp.com/ We plan to start each congressional meeting by lifting up a big 'ole stack of letters and placing them in the arms of those who can eliminate the waiting period. Showing them that there's other ALS patients & many constituents who want to see this change.
All you need to do is enter your info one time and 3 letters will be populated (1 to your Representative, 1 to Senator Brown and 1 to Senator Portman). We will then print your letters so we have them in hand.
Thank you on behalf of our family and all those living with ALS. With love & hope, Lorri, Paul, Paul Jr. and Christian
Please click here today & help us get this waiting period waived. kids4cure.herokuapp.com/ If you are not sure who your rep is ... leave blank & we'll populate.
